My glass journey
With an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, my original career path was in the court system in Delaware. However, in 2001, upon relocating to New Jersey with my husband and infant, I embarked on a journey into the world of stained glass. Seeking both companionship and a creative outlet, I enrolled in a class at a local stained glass studio. Instantly captivated, I found myself drawn to the art form, and thus began my enduring passion for stained glass craftsmanship.
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted significant changes in our lives. With my husband transitioning to remote work, we seized the opportunity to reassess our living situation. Driven by a desire for a deeper connection with nature, we set our sights on a relocation.
In 2021, after an extensive search, my husband and I discovered the idyllic charm of Morganton, nestled in the heart of the Western North Carolina foothills. Enthralled by its natural beauty and vibrant community, we made the decision to make it our new home. We bought a 125 year old building on W. Union St. in Morganton and renovated the ground floor to establish the studio of Paradise Glass, in the heart of the historic downtown.
