For a small town, Metuchen has a pretty vibrant arts scene. I am happy to be involved with Transformations Gallery, located inside the Old Franklin Schoolhouse, the town’s original one room schoolhouse that dates back to 1807. In the blocks surrounding the Schoolhouse are 3 other permanent art galleries. Once a year, we all coordinate our openings and invite visitors to come see the current shows, meet artists, listen to music, enjoy refreshments, and experience the art. This year we are pleased to include a brand new gallery on the walk; Galerie Westerhoff is just a few blocks further down Main St. The weather for Sunday looks like a perfect fall day to get out and explore. At Transformations, our current show features the work of 16 NJ artists translating their vision of the concept of HOPE; it’s the perfect show for our current moment. If you’re in the area, come check out the Gallery Walk.
