Earlier this week, my "studio assistant" (aka my 14 year old daughter) and I drove down to the Monmouth Museum in Lincroft, NJ to deliver 3 pieces of sculpture that are part of an exhibition that opens on June 28.  I began building the steel portion of these sculptures in a welding workshop in Pennsylvania last summer and then finished them with glass when I brought them back to my studio.  I'm thrilled to have them in this exhibition which is designed to help visually impaired people experience art by touching it.  This was our first visit to the Monmouth Museum and we were really impressed by the wide range of exhibits and events.  They have a children's wing with a variety of arts programs to entertain and inspire kids (note to those who are looking to entertain small people while school is out for the summer!).  They also have many unique exhibits and artists talks.  We are planning our next trip!  The "Please Touch" Sculpture Exhibition  runs through September 6 with an opening reception this Sunday June 28 from 4-6 pm.  Hope you can come check it out!
