Over the past few weeks, social media has been spilling over with graduation pictures-- preschool, kindergarten, middle school (I added a few to this stream!), high school and college. It is an exciting time of the year filled with the promise of new things to come. In my studio, I decided to "graduate" from borrowing welding equipment and using the tools of people who've taught classes and workshops to buying my own. It's my own MIG welder cap & gown! Welding offers me the ability to make structures into which I can put glass, getting light to come through it, which has long been my goal. Glass is still my passion but welding allows it to be more sculptural. Stay tuned for stories and pictures of my adventures at Welding State U! And congrats to all your graduates-- big and small!
