The steel frame for this butterfly was the last project I completed in my welding workshop this summer.  Since then, in between commissions, I fused & painted the glass for the wings and finally got it hung this week.  The lower portion of the body was made from a window weight so when we first hung it, it hung completely vertically, to my dismay.   It took a few times, standing on ladders, re-stringing it until we got it to have a little "lean" as if it's in flight.  Did I mention it's made of steel?  Luckily my husband is very patient. I love it's little head made of a finial & am so pleased to see it sways just a little in the breeze.  Visitors will be greeted by him as they come into and out of the studio.  I think he needs a name...
