Metuchen's Borough Improvement League hosts a wide variety of community functions at the Old Franklin Schoolhouse, the town's original one-room schoolhouse built in 1807.  My friend, talented local photographer, Judy Weinberg, and I have the privilege of co-curating the art gallery, Transformations, located inside the building.  We have hosted a lot of different artists and have enjoyed the individual flavor that each one  has brought to the space.  This Sunday we celebrate "Linewalking," the current show featuring local painters, father & daughter, Michael & Micayla Bransfield.  Their work features the largest and most vibrant paintings we have had on the schoolhouse walls and it is amazing to see how the modern art enlivens this historic space.  It has been a lot of fun to see them develop their show-- the back and forth between a father and daughter-- and also two passionate artists-- has been fascinating.  We are looking forward to their opening and hope you are able to come by and check it out.
