This has been a busy week-- personally, professionally, and with my family. Last night I participated in a gala event art show at the Raritan Bay Medical Center which was a lot of work and tons of fun! We have 2 birthdays this week-- my daughter turned 14 on Wednesday & my son turns 16 on Sunday. Also on Sunday, I will be running the NJ marathon. If you live on the East coast, you know this year's winter was colder and snowier than we are used to and I started training for the marathon in January! But I love to run-- something about the simplicity of just putting on my sneakers and stepping outside appeals to me. It is also a time to clear my head. I often think about projects I'm working on and solutions come to me on the run that don't occur to me at other times. Because it was so cold this year, I conceived a whole line of jewelry while I was running that featured tropical places that I would think about as I jumped over snowbanks and pulled the drawstrings of my face-covering hat a little tighter. Running also gives me the energy to keep up with my family who are all running their own races and heading in a million different directions. As I run, I often think of how fortunate I am to have my good health to be able to be cover the miles and support of my family both to push me out the door and welcome me back. Last night, my daughter was my "sales assistant" at the art show and this Sunday my son is volunteering at the finishing line of the NJ marathon. All of this makes those cold runs a lot warmer.
