As an artist who works primarily alone in my studio, I have been fortunate to build a network of other artists in my town who offer support and perspective to each other.  I'm in a group of 6 professional women artists that meets monthly to discuss business, marketing, and strategies to keep our art careers (and lives!) on track.  There are other artists that I reach out to as needed for guidance and one of them is Ed Wetzel.  Not only is he is a really nice guy, he is an extremely talented painter and teacher.  My 14 year old daughter has been taking classes at The Drawing Room this spring and she comes home excited, bubbling over with talk of negative space, light and shadow, & depth.  She's learning so much and, just as importantly, she's having fun.  Ed has been my teacher too on a number of occasions when I've called him for help with design layout.  He's a master of perspective and recently helped me develop a sketch for a commission I'm working on of a farm landscape.   If you're looking for a patient, gifted teacher for yourself or your children or if you are interested in commissioning a portrait, you should meet with Ed.   Tell him I sent you!
